CHICAGO (WLS) -- Heavily armed police officers swarmed an area near North State Street and East Bellevue Place overnight after eyewitnesses reported a threat.

Around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, a source said five or six men with black beards in a full-size white van shouted at a group of people in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood as they drove past.

Witnesses said the men claimed to be part of ISIS. Police will only confirm several men yelled inappropriate comments before speeding away.

The van headed south on Michigan Avenue and police were able to stop it, according to the source. But then the van took off again, speeding down Michigan to Madison Street. The van nearly hit construction workers near Madison and LaSalle Street, the source said.

No one has been arrested.

Police are taking this situation very seriously. But they want to reiterate there is no specific terrorist threat against Chicago.
