CHICAGO (WLS) -- The non-profit group Feed My Starving Children is teaming up with facilities in suburban Aurora, Libertyville, and Schaumburg to offer handmade, one-of-a-kind gifts to support artisans around the globe.

Each gift allows Feed My Starving Children to produce meals and feed malnourished children in over 70 countries. Buying just one gift can provide nearly 150 meals. Gifts for 2015 include wire Christmas ornaments, hand-carved puzzles, even banana leaf soccer calls.

In 2014, Feed My Starving Children packed more than 229 million meals.

Marilyn Maurella, of Feed My Starving Children, joined ABC7 to talk about the importance of helping children around the world.
