Chicago girl collecting Barbies to give away to other girls

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago girl is on a mission to collect 1,000 Barbie dolls to give away to other girls this holiday season.

On Wednesday night, several people dropped off donations at a Hyde Park church to help 8-year-old Joselyn Martin reach her goal.

She got the idea after she went to the park and met another girl who told her she didn't have any Barbies.

"Not as many people have as much as I do so it feels really good to be giving back," Joselyn said.

So far, Joselyn has collected about 500 Barbies that she looks forward to giving away.
