Police issue alert after string of West Ridge armed robberies

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Residents are on alert after a series of armed robberies on Chicago's far north side.

Police say the robberies have occurred just a few blocks apart in Chicago's West Ridge neighborhood. Two of them occurred in broad daylight.

In each case, the robber came up from behind and held up the victim for their purse, cell phone and cash.
