Navy Pier reopens after initial work on new Ferris wheel

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Navy Pier is back open to the public Thursday after two days of construction on the new Ferris wheel.

The new wheel is starting to take shape. Crews put together the six columns that will anchor the new attraction and the center hub.

The new wheel will be 50 ft. taller than the old one and will be able to hold nearly 200 more passengers.
