BELTSVILLE, Md. (WLS) -- An Army veteran is now out of a job for trying to stop two men trying to rob the store he managed.

Joe Morici says the men jumped the counter at his Maryland CVS and tried to get into the safe.

He chased the men out of the store, but when his boss arrived he said Morici was being fired for confronting the men, citing safety rules.

Morici spent seven years in the Army, including a tour in Afghanistan.

He says he's now applied to work at the local police department.
