CHICAGO (WLS) -- Hundreds of University of Illinois faculty will vote on whether to authorize a strike.

Members of a union that represents non-tenured teachers have been trying to negotiate their first contract with the school. They say talks are dead-locked.

Union leaders want members to approve a potential strike to help break the impasse.
