CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago remembered Dr. Martin Luther King on Monday, the 48th anniversary of his assassination.

A sample of King's writing, a musical performance, tributes and prayer were all part of an event hosted by the Rainbow PUSH Coalition at its headquarters on Chicago's South Side.

The service ended with a candlelit vigil shortly after 6 p.m. Monday night, the same time that King was shot to death on the balcony of a Memphis hotel.
