LOCKPORT, Ill. (WLS) -- Six people were injured in a crash involving a school bus Thursday afternoon in southwest suburban Lockport.

Forty children were on the Homer Community Consolidated School District 33C bus when it collided with a car around 3:30 p.m. near W. Victoria Crossing and Cedar Road.

Lockport police said the car pulled out in front of the bus, causing the accident.

Police said the school bus driver and three elementary school-aged children were hospitalized. Two teenagers in the car were also injured and taken to a local hospital. All of the injuries were non-life-threatening, police said.

Police said the driver of the car will be cited.
