Two dead in apparent murder-suicide in Homer Glen

HOMER GLEN, Ill. (WLS) -- Two people were found dead Saturday at a home in southwest suburban Homer Glen after an apparent murder-suicide, according to the Will County Sheriff's Office.

Officers responded to the home in the 16000-block of Meadow Crest Drive around 10 a.m. for a report of shots fired, according to a statement.

Deputies discovered a 54-year-old woman and 56-year-old man in a bedroom, unresponsive and each with a single gunshot wound. Paramedics were unsuccessful in their attempts to resuscitate them.

The Sheriff's Office says two older children were home at the time, and heard an argument before gunshots. Police are investigating.
