NORMAL, Ill. (WLS) -- Students at Illinois State University will be paying more next fall.

The Board of Trustees approved a 3-percent tuition hike for the 2016-2017 school year.

Now, students will pay $370 per credit hour.

The increase will remain the same for students through 2020.

Illinois State officials said that despite the increases, the university's tuition remains below other universities around the state.
