Driver crashes into Zion pond

ZION, Ill. (WLS) -- A driver crashed into a pond in far north suburban Zion early Sunday.

More than 20 different police and fire agencies assisted Zion police around 1 a.m.

The driver ended up in the pond located at the Horizon Village Apartment Complex.

The SUV sank about 25 feet offshore.

Divers checked the vehicle for any passengers but none was found. There was no immediate word on the driver's condition.
