Gas line explosion prompts evacuations in Detroit suburb
The gas line caught fire after a car struck a power line.

MELVINDALE, Mich. (WLS) -- Parts of the Detroit suburb of Melvindale, Mich. had to be evacuated after a large gas line exploded early Saturday morning.

Officials say a main gas line caught fire after a car struck a nearby power line.

One person in the car was hurt. It is not clear if there were any other injuries.
