Chicago police on alert after nationwide warning

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police officers are being put on alert Saturday morning.

The Fraternal Order of Police sent a nationwide alert warning police officers that gang members looking for revenge could be organizing to target law enforcement. The alert comes on the heels of the attacks in Dallas and Baton Rouge.

It notes a high-ranking member of a Chicago street gang who recently expressed a serious desire to kill a federal law enforcement agent.
