ZION, Ill. (WLS) -- A man was stabbed to death in the parking lot of a gas station in north suburban Zion, police said.

Zion police received a 911 call just after 6:15 p.m. Monday about a person shot at the Mobil in the 2500-block of Sheridan Road. Officers found a young man unconscious in the gas station parking lot. He was not breathing and had been stabbed in the chest.

A rescue crew rushed him to Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released the victim's age or identity. A clerk who works at the Mobil said the victim was not an employee.

Police said they have a suspect in custody and that the stabbing was an isolated incident.

The Lake County Major Crimes Task Force and Zion police are investigating.
