Bookworks in Wrigleyville to close

CHICAGO (WLS) -- After 32 years in business, Bookworks in Lakeview will close in October of this year.

A recent rent increase and competition from online book sites have made it hard for the store, located at 3444 North Clark Street store to survive. It's another sign of transition in a neighborhood that has changed greatly since the bookstore opened in 1984.

The store will begin a 50 percent off sale on August 15.

It will also continue to sell books through its website, TheBookworks.com.
