CHICAGO (WLS) -- Rescue teams are no longer searching for a Chicago woman who vanished last week during a Wisconsin camping trip, but her loved ones aren't giving up hope of finding her.

Virginia Aberle, 29, is presumed drowned in the Mississippi River after she went missing Wednesday, Aug. 3, while swimming with friends.

Family and friends are now relying on volunteers to continue the search.

"When the official search was called off, a lot of the volunteers came back and continued to help us keep the search going," said Emily Green, a friend of Aberle's.

Aberle's loved ones set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for supplies for the volunteers who continue searching for her.
