Police warn Lakeview residents of home burglaries

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Police Department is warning Lakeview residents of several residential burglaries that happened in that neighborhood.

Police said the burglaries occurred in the area from West Cornelia Avenue to West Belmont Avenue and North Racine Avenue to North Halsted Street.

In the burglaries, an unknown offender gained entry through an unlocked window or door and stole property, police said.

The first of this string of burglaries occurred on August 1st and the last occurred on Monday.

Area North detectives are investigating.
