EVANSTON, Ill. (WLS) -- Northwestern University archivists opened a time capsule on Wednesday that dates back to 1954.

Archivists pried open the capsule that was placed in the Kresge Centennial Hall cornerstone.

Kresge holds a special place in the hearts of many alumni because nearly every undergraduate has taken a class in the building in its more than 60 years of existence.
