Tinley Park student allegedly made threats against classmates in video

TINLEY PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- An 8th grade student who attends school in southwest suburban Tinley Park allegedly made violent threats against several classmates in a video posted on social media.

Authorities said a parent at St. George School watched the online video Wednesday night and called police.

Investigators conducted a threat assessment and spoke with the student in the video and the student's parents. After police contacted the principal, authorities said the student was told not to return to school Thursday.

Police said extra patrols would be posted at St. George School over the next few days. The incident remains under investigation.
