2 intruders break into Wilmette home with owner inside

WILMETTE, Ill. (WLS) -- A Wilmette homeowner apparently scared off two male intruders who forced their way into the occupied house, police said.

At about 1:20 p.m. Monday, the men forced open the front door of a home in the 200-block of Lockerbie Lane. The offenders were searching the first floor when the homeowner appeared. The men fled with a small amount of cash.

The men were described as being in their 20s.
