Rep. Danny Davis' grandson, 15, fatally shot in Englewood
The 15-year-old grandson of U.S. Rep. Danny Davis (D-IL 7) was shot and killed in his Englewood home Friday evening.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police said a 15-year-old boy was shot and killed in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood Friday evening, by a a group of men who forced their way into his home. The victim is the grandson of U.S. Rep. Danny Davis, who represents Illinois' 7th Congressional District.

Police said the victim was in his home in the 5600-block of South Princeton Avenue there was a dispute between the victim and two teens over gym shoes that turned physical at around 6:45 p.m. One of the teens pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Davis arrived at Area South police headquarters with family members around 9:30 p.m. to speak with investigators. He said he will not make a public statement until after he speaks with investigators.

Chicago police are investigating. No one is currently in custody.
