CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 16-year-old boy died Friday night after being shot multiple times in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on Chicago's South Side.
The teenager was standing outside at 6:40 p.m. in the 4800-block of South Throop when he heard shots and felt pain, Chicago Police said.
He was struck several times and taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition with gunshot wounds to the back, groin and arm, police said.
The teenager has been identified to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Diego Alvarado.
Police later he died from those gunshot wounds.
