Illinois transportation secretary considering toll booths on Eisenhower Expressway

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Illinois Transportation Secretary Richard Blankenhorn told the Chicago City Club toll booths on the Eisenhower Expressway could be a way to help with the budget.

The idea remains in its initial stages, but Blankehnhorn told the club the toll booths would be a way to raise revenue and ease traffic congestion.

The state has discussed right-of-way access with the Chicago Transit Authority for toll booth options in the median.
