CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police said two women were violently robbed by a small group of teenagers during daylight hours in River North and Wicker Park.

Police said a 33-year-old woman reported three boys and one girl got out of a van and approached her while she was walking in the 500-block of West Huron around 6:20 p.m. on Nov. 27. The robbers struck the woman and took her purse before fleeing.

A short time later, police responded to another robbery in the 1300-block of North Bosworth where a 36-year-old woman reported she was walking when two boys and one girl got out of a van and knocked her to the ground. One of the boys struck the victim in the face then took her purse, police said.
