Park Ridge 7-Eleven robbed by man in white mask

PARK RIDGE, Ill. (WLS) -- A 7-Eleven in northwest suburban Park Ridge was robbed Tuesday morning by a masked man who claimed to have a weapon.

Police received a report around 4:30 a.m. of an armed robbery at the convenience store located on Northwest highway near Oakton Street.

When officers arrived, the clerk told them a robber walked into the store, approached the counter and implied he had a weapon. The clerk said the man never showed one.

The robber took an undisclosed amount of money and ran from the scene, police said. No one was hurt.

Police asked people to stay away while they searched the area with K9 units.

The suspect was described as a 25-year-old Caucasian man, about 5 ft. 8 in. tall. Surveillance video shows he was wearing a black jacket, beige pants, a gray stocking hat and a white surgical mask.
