Getting ready for the Chicago Pride Parade
Preparations are underway for Chicago's 48th Annual Pride Parade.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Preparations are underway for Chicago's 48th Annual Pride Parade. The fun starts Sunday, June 25, 2017 at noon at the corner of Broadway and Montrose in the Uptown neighborhood. The parade is the culmination of a full month of activities. The Pride Parade features 150 entries; including colorful floats, marching bands, and members of the community. The Grand Marshal for the parade is "Orange is the New Black" star, Lea DeLaria. The Illinois native is an accomplished comedian, actress and jazz musician.

ABC 7 Chicago will be the only Chicago television station to broadcast The 48th Annual Pride Parade. You can watch the parade, hosted by ABC 7's Janet Davies and WXRT radio personality Terri Hemmert on June 25th beginning at 11:30 p.m. The broadcast will also be available on-demand at ABC7Chicago.com. Parade Coordinator Richard Pfeiffer joined ABC 7 live before the parade began to talk about what visitors can expect.
