CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago cop's fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy nearly five years ago was ruled unprovoked and unreasonable use of deadly force by the Independent Police Review Authority on Thursday.

Dakota Bright was fatally shot in the back of the head in November 2012 by a police officer.

Thursday's ruling by IPRA comes just over a year after the city settled for nearly $1 million with Bright's family.

The officer's name was not released.
