Man shot outside Walgreens in Schaumburg

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (WLS) -- A man was shot in the chest Monday evening in the parking lot of a Walgreens in Schaumburg, police said.

The victim is in his late 30s to early 40s, said Christy Lindhurst, of the Schaumburg Police Department. He was transported to Lutheran General Hospital in serious condition.

The shooting occurred at about 5:15 p.m. The store is located at 1180 S. Roselle Rd.

Police said the victim and shooter knew each other, and the shooting was not random. Police said they are looking for one, possibly two people they believe to be involved. No descriptions of those people were released.

No one was in custody Monday evening.
