U.S. Army Golden Knights ready for the Chicago Air & Water Show

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Air & Water Show is finally here! On August 19-20, 2017 you can watch aerial acrobatics along the lakefront including: the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, U.S. Navy Leap Frogs, and the U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights. There are also a wide variety of military and civilian aerial demonstration teams with daredevil pilots performing stunts. This is the 59th year for the Chicago Air & Water Show. It's one of the largest free admission events of its kind. ABC 7 is a proud media sponsor.

Former Chicago Cubs catcher, David Ross will open the Chicago Air and Water Show on Saturday, August 19, by tandem jumping with the U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights. He will touch down in front of the Boat House at North Avenue Beach after the show opens at 10am. The commanding officer of the U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights, LTC Carlos Ramos, joined ABC 7 live from North Avenue Beach to talk about his team, the Chicago Air & Water show, and what it means to be a part of this fantastic community event.
