Phones stolen in Magnificent Mile smash and grab, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are investigating a smash and grab on the Magnificent Mile. Authorities said someone smashed the front window of a store in the 800-block of North Michigan Avenue.

The suspect took off with an unknown amount of stolen phones before police arrived, responding to the burglar alarm activated just before 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

Video from the scene shows the front window of the Best Buy on the first floor of the John Hancock building was shattered.

Police do not have anyone in custody. Area Central police are investigating.
