3 displaced after fire destroys Grand Crossing home on South Side
Three people were left homeless Sunday after a fire ravaged a home in Grand Crossing on the South Side.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- One person is seriously injured and three others are homeless after a fire ravaged a home on the South Side Sunday.

The fire started Sunday at around 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of 69th Street and Kimbark Avenue in Chicago's Grand Crossing neighborhood, fire officials said.

The home was completely destroyed, displacing three people.

One person was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center with serious injuries, officials said. Their age and gender were unknown.

A neighbor said a man was babysitting three children at the home when the fire occurred. The parents weren't home at the time, according to the neighbor.

Sunday's incident was the second fire near that intersection this year. The first fire, in April, consumed two vacant buildings.
