INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WLS) -- A hot tub may have saved a baby cow in Indiana.

Dean Gangwer said he didn't know one of his 100 cows had given birth. But the farmer came upon the newborn calf buried in a snow drift on the edge of his property.

The baby cow was cold, but still breathing. Gangwer scooped up the animal and jumped into the family's hot tub. The calf, affectionately named Leroy, got a life-saving warmup.

Gangwer was right there with him, to make sure the newborn didn't drown.

"Leroy's officially done hot tubbing. Some sun bathing is definitely in his future in the summer, out in the grass. But definitely hot tub days are done," Gangwer said.

He said Leroy has gained strength and is doing just fine.
