7 charged in locker room theft at Crete-Monee football game against Brother Rice

CRETE, Ill. (WLS) -- Several arrests are made in connection to a theft inside a locker room during a suburban high school football game last week.

Police in Crete said seven juvenile face charges including theft, burglary and trespassing.

They are accused of stealing six cell phones and other property from a locker room during the Crete-Monee game against Brother Rice High School on September 6. The stolen property belonged to members of Brother Rice.

During their investigation, police recovered two cellphones believed to be taken during the theft and are working to return them to their owners.

The school district is also taking disciplinary action.
