CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police stuffed their squad cars with food this weekend to help feed those in need.

Customers bought the bags of food at Mariano's stores, which was then donated to the Stuff the Squad Project.

Nearly 1,000 bags were collected across the city and taken to food pantries.
