CHICAGO (WLS) -- Jose Guzman, 20, has been charged in the murder of a Southwest Side mother and son, police said.

Guzman, who lives in the 3800-block of West 55th Place in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, faces two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of home invasion, two counts of arson and one count of armed robbery.

Guzman allegedly killed Concepcion Herrera, 48, and her 22-year-old son, Carlos. Both were found dead Thursday afternoon in their home in the 3600-block of West 55th Place.

Police said he then set a couch on fire before fleeing the scene. Guzman was arrested Thursday.

An autopsy found Carlos Herrera died of multiple stab wounds and his death was ruled a homicide on Friday. Autopsy results on his mother are still pending.
