Addison man, 47, breaks leg in Indiana motorcycle crash

A west suburban man suffered a broken leg after crashing into a semi-trailer in northwest Indiana Sunday evening, police said.

PORTER COUNTY, Ind. (WLS) -- A west suburban man suffered a broken leg after crashing his motorcycle into a semi-trailer in northwest Indiana Sunday evening, police said.

Robert Szubert, 47, of Addison, struck the truck as he was merging his motorcycle onto I-94 westbound from SR 49 near Indiana Dunes State Park around 5:17 p.m. Sunday.

Szubert, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was thrown from the motorcycle and came to rest in the roadway. He was taken to a nearby hospital with a broken leg.

The driver of the truck, Brian Morris, 30, of Jackson, Mich., was uninjured.
