8-year-old boy shot while playing with gun in Lawndale

CHICAGO (WLS) -- An 8-year-old boy was shot while playing with a gun in the city's Lawndale neighborhood, police said.

The child was struck in the abdomen after the gun went off inside a home in the 3700-block of West 13th Street Tuesday morning, police said. The boy was playing with another child when the incident occurred.

A family member brought the child to the hospital, where he's listed in good condition, police said.

No other details have been released.
