EAST CHICAGO, Ind. (WLS) -- Two teenagers were killed in a rollover car crash in East Chicago early Sunday morning, police said.

Police say Marco Alvarado, 18, of East Chicago, Ind. was driving upwards of 90 mph on Railroad Avenue near West 143rd Street around 3 a.m. Sunday, when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a utility pole. The pole fell and car rolled before hitting another utility pole. Alvarado and the passenger in the car, Eric Rodriguez, 17, of Gary, died at the scene of the crash.

Five other teenagers were hospitalized with injuries.

Alvarado's sister said her brother just graduated from high school.

"He was super friendly, very outgoing, and I still can't believe this is happening," said Gloria Alvarado.

Investigators are looking into whether alcohol or drugs played a role in that crash.
