Firefighters respond to apparent Metra train fire on South Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago firefighters responded to the scene of an apparent train fire on the city's South Side Saturday night.

Firefighters could be seen boarding a Metra train car stopped at Lake Park Avenue and Hyde Park Boulevard.

Metra said one train stopped with 60 passengers on board and Chicago firefighters have taken those people off the train. They also took 10 passengers off a second train that stopped at 69th Street.

Power has been shut off for northbound trains in the area.

There are no reports of injuries at this time.
