CHICAGO (WLS) -- Sparks above a Metra Electric District train Saturday night caused a fire and resulted in suspension of service on the line for hours.
Fire and smoke were visible from above Hyde Park Blvd. and Lake Park Avenue on the city's South Side around 9 p.m. Saturday.
Passengers were eventually moved off two Metra trains and onto CTA buses, but the electrical issues caused extensive delays for nearly four hours.
No one was hurt, but Chicago firefighters did remove 64 passengers from one train and 10 passengers from another train at 69th Street.
