CHICAGO (WLS) -- Travelers taking off from Midway Airport needed to pack their patience Friday morning.

Long lines were reported just to get through the TSA check point.

The TSA said the lines are because of a lot of passengers traveling in the last weeks of summer. At one point, the wait to get through security was about two hours.

A $248 million expansion plan proposed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel earlier this month would expand the security checkpoint hall and pedestrian bridge over Cicero Avenue to 300 feet.
