CHICAGO (WLS) -- Visitors to the Field Museum Saturday got the rare opportunity to talk with scientists.

Kids and parents were permitted to bring in their own specimens, such as dry bones, fossils, meteorites or seashells. Scientists on staff worked to identify the species.

This was the second year the Field Museum hosted "ID Day." Admission was free to all Illinois residents.
