Man tried to lure girl into white van in West Lawn

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man tried to lure a girl into his van after school let out in Chicago's West Lawn neighborhood, police said.

Police said the man pulled up next to the girl in the 4900-block of South Karlov Avenue around 3:35 p.m. Tuesday. They said he motioned for her to come over to him and then parked his white van next to her.

When her parents came to pick her up from school, police said the man drove away.

Police said the man is described as a Hispanic man between the ages of 32 and 35. He had black hair and a light brown complexion.
