Lake Bluff marathoner wins first six-star medal
Running one marathon is difficult enough, so imagine racing in six all over the globe.

LAKE BLUFF, Ill. (WLS) -- Running one marathon is difficult enough, so imagine racing in six all over the globe.

David Mark, of Lake Bluff, was honored with the inaugural Abbott World Marathon Majors Six Star Medal. He received the award after running in the Tokyo Marathon. The Abbott World Marathon Majors consist of races in Chicago, Boston, London, Berlin, New York, and Tokyo.

Abbott World Marathon Majors Series X and the new AbbottWMM Wheelchair Series X begin at the April 2016 Boston Marathon and end upon completion of the April 2017 Boston Marathon. The 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Marathons are also part of Series X.
