A.D. Dolphin shares his top health tips for the holiday season.
1. Watch your portions
You don't need two plates of food and one plate of dessert. Controlling your portions can be hard, but a great way to do this is to eat out of a bowl. If your portion is bigger than both fists combined, you need to put some food back.
2. Take time to relax
The holidays can be stressful. When you're stressed, it can lead to craving unhealthy food that you don't need. Schedule a massage, do some yoga poses every morning, or take a few minutes to breathe deeply every night to get rid of stress.
3. Make water a priority
When you are properly hydrated, you feel full, which means you won't be tempted to eat food that happens to be out. You can also drink lemon water to help detox your body and keep your skin healthy in the dryer weather.
4. Start your days off healthy
Not everybody makes the healthiest of choices during the holidays, but a healthy morning is a great way to kick off the day. It is beneficial to start your day off with a healthy smoothie. Just remember too use fresh fruit and vegetables.
5. Happy digestion drink
Whether you eat some things that you shouldn't or eat too much, there's a drink that promotes digestive health. Mix a little apple cider vinegar and fresh lemon juice in a glass of warm water. Drink this on an empty stomach in the morning for two days.
