CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Cook County judge is deciding whether a convicted killer sentenced to life in prison will get a shorter sentence.

Addolfo Davis is serving a life sentence for a 1990 murder conviction when he was 14 years old. The hearing came after the Supreme Court said mandatory life sentences for juveniles are unconstitutional.

Davis is the first of nearly 100 Illinois inmates who will get a new sentencing hearing.
