Little girl wears military uniform to greet her mom home from tour in Iraq

TAMPA, Fla. -- A little girl paid tribute to her mom in a very special way this week, when welcoming her home from her latest tour in Iraq.

Five-year-old Morgan Rhyne was sporting an Air Force uniform, with a bit of her own personal flare in the form of pink sparkly boots, when she met her mom at Tampa International Airport Wednesday morning. Her mom is a major in the U.S Air Force.

Morgan's dad, Rick Rhyne, is an Army veteran. He got the uniform for her.

"She talked about going to work with mom now that she has a uniform," Rhyne told ABC affiliate WFTS-TV in Tampa Bay.

When Morgan's mom, Major Christine Ryne, finally made her way through the gate, the little girl quickly ran up to hug her.

Little Morgan is a trooper in her own right. She is battling cystic fibrosis, and that's why Major Rhyne tells WFTS it is even more difficult to be way from home.

"I know it's tough for Rick to be a single dad while I was gone, especially with Morgan being sick all the time, but it's great to be home," she said.

Rick agrees it is difficult, but tells WFTS the Military plays a big role in helping them cope with their situation.

"The good part of this is the military is like a family, everybody tends to help out," he said. "Everybody understands when you have to take some time off to take care of your special needs children."

Morgan however, just wants to tell her mom the little details that happened while she was gone.

"Amber gave me a flamingo head band and a flamingo shirt," she said.
