The Walk to End Alzheimer's rallied friends and families together honoring someone affected by this disease.
"Mom passed away from Alzheimer's 10-plus years ago so I'm walking in her honor," said Marry Sheridan.
Lauren White said she walked for her mother Laura. "Her nickname is Lu Dog, so we're loose dogs," said White.
The Alzheimer's Association said deaths from the disease have more than doubled across the nation in the last 20 years.

More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease. In Illinois, there are 230,000.
The Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research.

"I hope they find a cure for Alzheimer's., said Nancy Hawkins Harris. "Horrible, horrible disease and I pray for anyone who's lost the love once again."

The Alzheimer's Association of Illinois is among hundreds of chapters raising money.
"There are many new treatments coming out so really, it's important that we raise money for critical funds for research because we're really changing the trajectory of this disease, so it's a great time for hope," said Aime Nolan, Board Chair , Alzheimer's Association Illinois.
