Adler Planetarium offers free admission to Illinois residents

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Illinois residents can explore space and soar among the stars for free at the Adler Planetarium on select days through the end of the year.

General admission will be free for Adler guests who bring a valid ID with their Illinois address on it on these days in 2017:

-Monday, Sept. 11 through Sunday, Sept. 17
-Monday, Oct. 9
-Wednesday, Oct. 25 through Friday, Oct. 27
-Friday, Nov. 10
-Wednesday, Nov. 15 through Friday, Nov. 17

-Monday, Dec. 4 through Sunday, Dec. 10

With general admission, explorers get access to all the planetarium's exhibits and experiences except the Atwood Sphere Experience and sky shows.

But on Adler's free days, Illinois residents can upgrade from a free general admission ticket to an Anytime All Access Pass at a discounted rate: $17.95 for adults and $16.95 for children. The All Access Pass allows guests to see all exhibits, experiences and sky shows.

The Adler Planetarium is open daily from 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. and is located at 1300 South Lake Shore Drive in Chicago.



An important note: Adler's free days may change, so it's a good idea to check the planetarium's Special Offers page before planning a visit.
